I’m Diya Thresia Daniel from Kollam. I am 18 years old. I have been suffering from scoliosis since 2019, and over the years, I’ve undergone several treatments and consultations with various doctors, but unfortunately, there has been no improvement. We reached out to Dr. Ranjith Unnikrishnan for prompt assistance in addressing the jammed nerves between C5-C6 and C6-7, all the way from Dubai on Friday, April 5th, 2024. Although my wife, Veena (known for Veena’s Curryworld), was mentally prepared for cervical spine surgery, the logistical challenges of finding the right medical facility, managing travel arrangements, and planning for post-operative care loomed large. Dr. Ranjith Unnikrishnan generously offered to evaluate Veena, conduct necessary tests, and perform the surgery on April 7th, 2024. We flew out on Friday night, arriving in Trivandrum on Saturday morning for the consultation. Dr. Ranjith Unnikrishnan diligently outlined the potential risks, post-operative discomforts, and assured us of the hospital's capability to manage any complications that might arise. Thankfully, through divine grace, meticulous planning, and focused execution, the six-hour surgery concluded successfully without any complications. As promised by Dr. Ranjith Unnikrishnan, Veena was discharged on April 10th, 2024, with an ample supply of pain medications lasting three weeks. After a brief stay in a hotel to ensure Veena's comfort, we returned to Dubai on April 13th, 2024. Understanding the challenges of navigating medical procedures as expatriates, particularly in a foreign country with limited time and reliable information, Dr. Ranjith Unnikrishnan's exemplary service stood out. He not only met but exceeded our expectations. Emphasis was placed on the necessity of extensive physiotherapy, and Dr. Ranjith Unnikrishnan even arranged for a home care physiotherapist to visit us thrice weekly in Dubai. Veena ceased pain medication within twelve days and is now progressing well with regular physiotherapy sessions. The prognosis provided by Dr. Ranjith Unnikrishnan was accurate, and we wholeheartedly endorse his services at any time.

I am an ophthalmologist, and was suffering from severe pain in my left leg for more than 6 months; which increased in such a way that I couldn't sit, stand or lie down comfortably. My name is Vineeth 38 years 182 cm now at 92 KG now . I was having a L5 - S1 disc prolapse and sciatic nerve compression from 2015 I was suffering with pain & immobility issues for almost two years. My wife experienced a disc re-herniation after undergoing a microdiscectomy in Thailand on first week of March 2024.The condition worsened, severely compressing her nerves and affecting the mobility of her right leg. Her spinal surgeon recommended immediate fusion surgery. Considering the recovery needs, we decided to move to Kerala for the procedure. After extensive research, we found Dr. Ranjith Unnikrishnan at KIMS Hospital in Trivandrum, renowned as one of the finest spine surgeons in Kerala and an expert in scoliosis surgery, which is more complex than disc herniation surgery. Unable to secure an online appointment due to high demand, we used personal contacts at the hospital to get an appointment for April 9th, explaining the urgency of the situation. We arrived in Trivandrum on April 8th and met Dr. Ranjith the following day. After reviewing the MRI from Thailand and conducting a clinical examination, he confirmed that my wife's right leg was semi-paralyzed, with about 70% mobility lost, and recommended immediate fusion surgery. To our surprise, he scheduled the surgery for that same day, emphasizing the risk of delaying treatment. He explained that any delay could worsen her condition, making recovery difficult if the nerve damage became permanent. Dr. Ranjith scheduled the surgery for 9 PM and thoroughly explained the procedure, associated risks, and recovery period. The endoscopic fusion surgery lasted until 3 AM the next day. Dr. Ranjith, a senior surgeon who had been in the outpatient department that morning, stayed until the surgery was completed, showing remarkable dedication. He shared procedure photographs and assured me that, despite some difficulties, he had performed the surgery as best as possible. Amazingly, the next day in the ICU, he asked my wife to get out of bed and walk. Even under anesthesia, she managed to walk, and 80% of her leg mobility was restored, providing immense relief for us. Three months post-surgery, she is still in the recovery phase. The titanium implants used in the fusion surgery take time to fully fuse with the bones, causing occasional pain. While I wasn't entirely satisfied with the nursing care after moving to the room and some administrative procedures, we are grateful for Dr. Ranjith’s expertise and the hospital's facilities.

I had a spinal Surgery on 1st of december 2023 at the age of 62 years. Dr Renjith Unnikrishnan was the Surgen He did an excellent job. My broken neck was Surgically corrected and damaged C2 vertibra is addressed properly. An implant is also put inside the neck to support the Head . A review after 10 months of Surgery it appears in excellent condition. My father, Mr.Nazarudeen, was recently detected with a bony mass on spine. Though he was asymptomic, the location of the lesion was very dangerous. After seeking many opinions we understood that the treatment is only excision. We approached Dr Renjith Unnikrishnan in Kims healthcare,TVM and he spoke politely about the nature of the growth, how it could harm, treatment plans.. Inshort he said all the possibilities if it is not removed as well as if it is removed early at this stage. Even a simple biopsy was not possible from that site. Keeping in mind the chances of being a suspicious malignant lesion, the treatment was wide exicision. Making us understand everything about the lesion & surgical procedure was his best part. Being a morbid surgery taking hours to complete, there were possibilities of paralysis, numbness, coma etc and may even lead to hospital stay for many days but Doctor has said that he will do his best to give my father back as he came.The procedure took approx 6-7hrs and with God‘s grace and expertise of Dr Renjith Unnikrishnan, it was all good. He was discharged on second day. Though my father has slight restricted neck mobility, he is fine and leading a normal life. As it is said, God sometimes appear in the form of certain humans and that is what Dr Renjith Unnikrishnan is for us.
