I came to KIMS in a condition where a disc bulge had stopped blood flow to my leg, and I was unable to walk at all. I was in severe pain and could not sit or stand even for 10 minutes for almost three months. Those were extremely painful days. Dr. Ranjith performed the surgery, and today I am able to walk again. I can now stand, sit, and walk for long periods without any pain. I have completely recovered and am living a normal, pain-free life. I was admitted with a sudden outburst of acute pain and numbness in my left leg. Dr.Ranjith Unnikrishnan diagnosed the cause to a prolapse in my L5-S1 disc leading to sever impinging of the nerve bunch and proposed for surgical removal of the extended part of the disc to relieve the nerves, there by avoiding further nerve damage. Dr.Renjith Unnikrishnan and team gave us all the details of my case with MRI images and helped me make the conscious decision to proceed with the surgery. The team was so proactive and willing in their approach that the Micro Endoscopic Discectomy (MED) was carried out the very next day evening after clearing all the pre-surgery checks. Right after the surgery I was relieved of the pain and I was made to walk and do sit ups which I could do with ease. As the doctor had explained the numbness in the left leg was persisting but was gradually recovering. Thanks to Dr.Renjith Unnikrishnan and team at KIMS, I was able take the right decision to go for the surgery at the right time, there by preventing possible nerve damaged and associated complications. Really appreciate the professionalism with which the whole team worked too.
