I have had scoliosis for many years. Although I tried various Ayurvedic treatments to relieve pain and treat scoliosis, none of them provided me with lasting results. Later, I sought treatment at several allopathic hospitals. Many doctors suggested spine surgery, but rather than its success, they focused more on the potential risks of the surgery. This made me hesitant to proceed with surgery. After a few months, I learned about Dr. Ranjith Unnikrishnan through some of his patients. I understood that he is an experienced spine surgeon with a track record of successful spine surgeries. I immediately consulted him. As someone who was born with spinal muscular atrophy type 2, a lot of issues have been bothering me limiting me from accessing my full potential. One of these issues was scoliosis, which had been progressively getting worse since I was around 8 years old. Since then, I was trying to minimize the curvature through methods such as pillow support, lumbar jackets and even belts on my wheelchair.
